The card reader has been returned, so the full horror of my desk can be revealed.
Phew, you can't spot my binoculars, I can't think why they are on my desk |
I've been fiddling about with ideas, sometimes jewellery and sometimes sewing, so my desk is dedicated to neither!
I've finally discovered a way to have an area clear for cutting out fabric - I've taken to errecting and more importantly taking down a pasting table. Because I put the table down, no-one has time to leave anything on it. This means at a moments notice I can start working on a sewing idea, but the state of my desk is suffering because of it!
Here is just a small selection of the fabric I have been buying from shops and charity shops mentioned in last weeks post |
I must just show you before I go a lovely giveaway I received from Paperlicious Delicious. Seeds collected from her garden and then sealed in little origami sachets with labels on.
A very simple idea, and one that has made me hunt around my garden inspecting seed heads. Now don't get too excited as mine are likely to be runner beans and nasturtiums, but if you are a gardener then watch this space.
That pile of fabric looks lovely but do i see buttons under??!!! How much do I love buttons!! Fab desk, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFabric, just discovering it is as much a danger for me as piles of cardstock and paper.......
ReplyDeleteI meant to search my garden for seeds I kept remembering but the weather was so bad and then we were away and now I think they have all gone elsewhere :# still there is always next year hey!
What a cleaver idea to do with the seeds, my son is forever collecting them, now this gives me an idea...
ReplyDeleteAnother fabric fiend! You're going to have fun with that little lot - your sewing machine will be begging for mercy :) xx
ReplyDeletenooo thats not horror, just busy business. embrace the chaos.x
ReplyDeletePiles of fabric and bags of buttons, what more could a girl ask for! Like the seed idea too. A busy desk is a happy desk.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to keep the table cleared and folded till you need it. Just the other day I was clearing my cutting table and my dear grandson stopped by and filled the first available space....Hmmm
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
That's a busy desk! Looks great. I've got a Pfaff too, but not such a sophisticated one. They are brilliant. Had mine from my parents for my 21st birthday and I'm now 58, and it's still going strong! Happy belated WOYWW.
ReplyDeleteThose seed packets are a great idea. When I do swaps I like to add a little something extra in the parcel and these are ideal. Mind you all I seem to be able to grow are French Marigolds!!!!!. Hugs Mrs A
ReplyDeleteThose seed packets are adorable! Love the fabrics too - the red polka dot one caught my eye. So much potential for making lovely things!
ReplyDeleteI collect seed when I remember. Love the seed packets you have there.

Hmmm somehow that makes me feel a little better, seeing someone elses clutter! Of course mine is worse, yours looks organized. :) I think I spend more time trying to organize and find things than I do actually making things. My dream is a house with a big room dedicated to JUST MY CRAFTS. I actually had a sunroom in our last house and I had sort of taken it over. But alas... :) Thank you for making my morning! I think I'll go make a mess now.
ReplyDeleteGosh a very busy desk, off to look at what your are selling.
