WOYWW - Far too much

Look at the state of that!
I don't know about you, but taking part on What's on your workbench Wednesday gives me a great opportunity to realise what shouldn't be on my workbench.  Why can I only spot things in the photo?  I hadn't realised it was this full, even though last night I worked on the ironing board!

I am currently covering a batch of books, the drying ones are in the foreground. Mid-way back is a batch mid-way through the process, and the background is a batch of completed doorstops.

However the rest of the table is chaos and debris, including my daughters blanket for her 0-6 month car seat.  As my daughter is now 5 years old, I have absolutely no idea why it has suddenly appeared at the back of my table.  I shall have to check last weeks posting to see if it was there then.

So I thought I'd give you an after photo.  After the kettle had boiled.
Whilst the kettle did its job, I tidied up.
Now in truth, I still can't use that side of the table as on the floor are two sewing machines, one hard sewing machine cover and two vacuum cleaners.  But I promise that once I have posted this, I shall work on moving them.

  4. Oh yes, that floor space can get a tad crammed on some days round here too. Well done on your clean up and you earned that cup of tea today!

  5. Good idea to tidy. I wonder why you have two sewing machines. Do you collect and restore them or like me, have one very old but good workhorse of a machine, yet need a modern one for embroidery?

    1. One handcrank sewing machine, one broken sewing machine, one broken vacuum, one borrowed vacuum, but I do need 2 of me to keep up with my life at the mo.

  14. Textile handy I am not but oh I love fabric, much like I love paper. I tried sewing but spent more time removing stitches than finishing projects! My sewing machine is on my floor next to my workdesk, I use it on occasion to sew on my cards lol!

  20. Those doorstops are so swish. Lovely to hear of the project that has come to a stop because the recipient outgrew it before she got to use it. I have a number of UFO's in my cupboard.

  22. I know what you mean about seeing things in the photo - when you are sitting down to list what's on your desk. I did that few weeks ago and was embarrassed! haaa

  26. Your post made me smile - I'm glad that I'm not the only one in a mess, clears space and then I'll fill it up again! Love the doorstops - you could always post them as outers with instructions on how to fill them.
