WOYWW - I've moved house

the 'new' workbench
OK, so I exaggerate, but yes fellow WOYWWers (What's on your workbench Wednesday) I report to you this week from a new location.  I really can't work in the studio at the moment (due to the cold) and tired of putting the machine away each evening, I asked OH if I could put a table in the bedroom.

I haven't quite sorted things out yet, but I'm still really pleased with it, as I can pop in for half an hour and get stuck straight in.

I didn't find an extension lead, so the sewing machine ended up on the short side of the table.  Actually this is a good thing as it leaves the rest of the table for picking through the fabric.

Yesterday I had the car, so I whipped down to Machynlleth to Wheeler's Fabrics again.  I picked up some more background fabric and had a little look around for beach hut fabric.  Which means this week I shall have a bit of fun checking out what will be suitable.

Now hop off and see what everyone else is upto over at Julia's

  7. Hi Polly, I have worked in a tiny corner of a bedroom for years (see before pic on my blog). There is so much you can do to organise a small space. Last week I got a bigger space - a small room of my own and it looks no-where near as pretty or as cosy (see after pic on my blog) - so enjoy! xx

  12. My machine's on the short end of the table too - leaves lots of space for cutting out! That stripey fabric is lovely, screams of the seaside :)

  15. Hi,
isn't it weird, yet kind of a no-brainer when you think about it, sometimes it is all about where you do your crafting. And that depends on where you feel comfortable. I switch from place to place quite often at the moment, usually depending on whether the fire is lit!
I was just reading your older post and I must say its a relief to find out that I'm not the only person who has a bit of an issue with glue!! When I've got a bit more time I plan to read the responses in more detail and try out some of the recommendations. Thanks for the nosey into your workspace!!

  16. This cold makes it very difficult to craft sometimes doesn't it?! My room is cold too but I'm trying to warm it up. Hope your change of scenery helps!

  18. You must stay warm to craft. You need those blood cells (and ideas) to rush to your head!

  26. I'm not surprised you've retreated indoors, it's been soooo cold hasn't it. I had to smile that you asked your DH if you could come in, does he keep you outside normally. I thought it was usually the other way round with men and their sheds!!
