WOYWW - distracted

Hello folks, there is far too much going on in my life at the moment, I really should have more sense than to join in with WOYWW (whats on your workbench Wednesday), this week, but I can't help myself. (Rhinoceros news is available to those that need it, here).

On my desk in the jiffy bag is the part for my vacuum cleaner - so maybe, just maybe I might have a working vacuum cleaner tonight (4 months of borrowing MIL is beginning to get annoying for both parties).

On the left is the pile of things, still waiting to be fixed.

The bowl of lost things is still there, it did have the ipod cable at the bottom, and I removed a few more things from it, but other things climbed in to fill it straight back up again.

On the right is a pile of coins, OH, empties his pockets onto the table each night, which irritates me, but at least he hasn't taken to piling his clothes there too. (It is part of the reason there must never be an empty space).

The book propped open is my notes on how to make the following, yes, despite the fact that I really shouldn't have spent the time on it, I just had to make up this purse that was rattling around in my head.
It was inspired by the quilting stall I found at Machynlleth market last week.
The bag needs a shorter handle on one side and a longer tag on the other, and goodness knows what was up with my top stitching today, but I think there is some mileage in the design.  I hope to add the daffodil, chicken and sailing boat instead of the coloured panel, so to add it to the Polly Polkadot range.

  1. Hi Polly... I know the feeling that everything happens at once. I am snatching a few mins to blog hop. I can say that men dumping their change is very common, my DH does it too. Helen T #48

  2. Coin dumping, eh?? The blighters always do it, don't they (bless....) And has he no space of his own? Don't leave him any gaps...set up a mousetrap...anything!!
And thanks for your extremely entertaining post on rhino washing - it took me back to Animal Magic. I could hear dear old Johnny Morris' voice narrating your text :)
    Hope the purses go well...

  14. It's always the same with me...something pressing to do - get easily and willingly distracted by something else. Pretty fabric on the purse...now you've done the first one, perhaps you aren't distracted any more? Apart from looking after the Rhino of course. Big job, huh.

  15. Gorgeous bag! I am with you on 'wasting time' as DH called it but I no longer think of it as that...it is an investment in the sanity and tranquility of our happy home. Hope your vacuum works for you. I hate having to borrow and from MIL forget it I used a broom! Have a better week. Vickie #32 (thanks for visiting my blog!)

  18. Speaking of vacuums, I need to get mine out and use it. I wonder, how can lost things be in a bowl? Doesn't that mean that they are found?

Your purse looks great. I have a sewing machine and have never used it...... I even have a small stash of fabric. Hmmm, maybe some day!

Thanks for visiting me earlier today! I do love this blog hop.

    Happy WOYWW

  19. Hmmn! If something is lost how can it be lost if it is in your bowl? That means you know where it is!
Also, if your Hubby empties his money out on to YOUR desk then it is yours! After all possession is 9/10ths of the law right?!! Try putting it into your Crafty pot (I presume you have one) and he will soon stop doing it. Mine now knows not to leave coppers, 5ps, 20ps or £2 lying around or they go into various money boxes!
Liking the purse. Great for crafty excursions as you can keep your crafty money in there and it doesn't get mixed in with housey money!
Would you like me to send Monkey to fix the vacuum for you? He is very cheap to feed - monkey nuts of course! LOL!

  20. Firstly, pretty purse.
Secondly, messy desk, but we have to forgive you as you turn out such amazing stuff.
I collect all the dumped cash and put it in my own wallet, so works for me - they either stop or I get rich!

  23. Hey I would be gathering all those dumped coins into a secret jar in a draw and when it is full, have loads of fun spending it. LOL All money dumped in my house belongs to me and supports my habit, not drug, craft habit. LOL Think of the advantages to it. You could call it the dissapearing jar of penance. LOL
