As normal my desk is covered with all the thoughts inside my head. |
But I am delighted to announce that the Baby Blue Singer Sewing Machine is back in action. I received the machine through the Freecycle system, but it needed a little tlc.
I adjusted the belt to its max position the other week, but I guessed it still wasn't tight enough (I had never looked at sewing machine belt before) Anyway, the machine beat me to it, and began slipping before I had got around to ordering a new one.
There is a great, sewing machine parts site, it changes its name depending on what sewing machine brand you are looking for, so for the life of me I can't remember the name, but anyway, the belt arrived by return of post, I fitted it and Baby Blue is back in action.
This allows me to leave Baby Blue set up for free motion embroidery, and my Pfaff set up for normal sewing. (Please don't let me bore you with the different settings required).
This idea is great, apart from one small problem, don't tell Baby Blue but - I just haven't bonded with it yet! It works, it does the job fine, but it just isn't the same as my Pfaff.
Anyway, this is what the new combo, produced today. A glasses case and a business card case, (in truth that is my ironing board, not my workbench, but you can't really expect me to move all that stuff).
Sometime soon, I might finally get around to photographing the glasses cases well enough to list them.
How lovely to put new life back into the old machine. I really do hope you bond with it soon and enjoy playing with it.

ReplyDeleteHmmm, wonder if that sewing machine place has the stuff to fix my grandmother's machine? If you find the name please do share. I got her machine after she passed and it didn't work so well, so it's boxed up but I'd love to set it up and have it running! Love the cases have a great day!

The blue machine is awesome! Great little cases-love your label on the side.
ReplyDeleteSo true about new tools and not yet quite bonding with them (I shan't tell Baby Blue if you don't!) - I often get this with pens; they should write so nicely, but in my handwriting they often don't, so I'm always hunting for those that do...and then they run out! Have a fab week and hope to see you popping by my Pen Pot, best wishes Deb #74
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should have a 'date', and bond over a glass of wine???? The resulting projects would be very interesting lol!!!
ReplyDeletethanks for your comments on my blog, cogs may take a while to find a home!

I'm really late getting around this week, but what the hell. Love the idea that you haven't quite bonded with the baby blue yet..these things take time! The business card case is so sweet, much nicer than the plastic box that you often see in use! As for the badge...I get it...hop someone else does!!
